Dear Friends and Partners in Lao Mission
This issue of February 2017 StikyRice features mainly the visit of the
Darwin Church members. I have been struggling in my mind whether or not I
should expose the contributions and involvements in the work of God in Laos
of my beloved members in Darwin. In my mind, a thought echoing what the
Lord said, “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know
what your right hand is doing” (Matthew 6:3). On the other hand, in these
days and age, transparency is important. And people have the right to know
what we have done with their money. So, I apologize if I have exposed you
too much. But, it was all done in due respect to your contributions and
sacrifices you have made to help God’s work in Laos. There are many other
things that you have done that I could not mention all of them. A friend
of mine once complained to me that my newsletters were too long. So, I am
trying to be short and limit to 6 pages only now.
To other supporters, this does not mean that we have not acknowledged your
contributions and sacrifices. We are sincerely grateful to you all and
your kind support to the Lord’s work in Laos in different aspects and
projects. Without your help, support, and prayers this infant mission
would never have survived. Like a baby that needs constant care from its
mother this little baby mission field called Lao Attached Field (LAF) would
not have survived if you have not cared for and nurtured it.
So, I pray that God will bless you and that your involvements in His work
in Laos will bring you rewards of happiness and eternal life. Please
continue to pray for us in Laos. And if you would like to get involved in
God’s work in Laos like help us teach English for a year, come and build a
church or school, give relief goods to the poor, or any other activity that
is close to your heart please let us know.
As I am writing now, 50 families in Houn District (my birthplace), Oudomxay
Province, have lost everything in the fire. It will be good if our church
can show sympathy by proving relief goods such as blankets, mosquito nets,
and other household items to them. But, we simply do not have such fund in
hand.
Blessings
